Installation

Installation of the 25 mm Puzzle Floor – Superior Density – Non-Slip Surface F, Reversible Blue/Red

Installing our puzzle tatami is quick and easy. You only need a clean, level, and dry surface. Start by fitting the pieces together from one corner of the room, joining each tatami by its puzzle-type edges as if it were a jigsaw puzzle. Make sure to align the edges properly and press lightly so they remain firm and securely connected.

If necessary to adapt to the space, you can trim the edges with a cutter to fit the available area. No adhesive is required, making it easy to disassemble and reposition whenever needed.

Cleaning

Cleaning the 25 mm Tatami Floor – Superior Density – Non-Slip Surface F, Reversible Blue/Red

Cleaning our puzzle tatami is very easy and does not require special products. Simply sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dust and surface dirt. For a deeper clean, you can use a soft cloth soaked in warm water with a neutral soap, gently rubbing the surface and avoiding abrasive products or alcohol-based cleaners that could damage the surface. Once the tatami is clean, it is necessary to let it dry completely before stepping on it again.

If any piece gets very dirty, you can remove it and wash it separately, taking care to let it air dry and reassemble the tatami only when the piece is completely dry. Moisture buildup may cause the pieces to deteriorate prematurely. It is recommended not to expose the pieces to direct sunlight, as UV rays may eventually cause the tatami to fade.

Care tips

Care Tips for the 2.5 cm Puzzle Tatami – Superior Density – Non-Slip Surface F, Reversible Blue/Red

To enjoy our puzzle tatami for many years, it is important to use it properly and follow a few simple recommendations.
  • Maintain regular cleaning of the tatami, and prevent dirt, dust, or moisture from accumulating.
  • When cleaning the tatami, never use very aggressive chemical products, bleach, or alcohol.
  • If you need to store the tatami, stack it in blocks no higher than 2 meters, placing one piece on top of another.
  • The pieces should always be stored in a sheltered space that is dry and free from moisture. Always avoid direct sunlight and never store the tatami outdoors.
  • Avoid assembling and disassembling the tatami too frequently, as this may loosen the puzzle edges. If necessary, try to handle the pieces carefully and number each piece so you know its correct position when reassembling.
  • Using very high-pressure water on the tatami is not recommended, as this could deform the piece.
  • Do not step on the tatami with street shoes, as they may carry dirt from outside on the soles. It is recommended to step on the tatami barefoot or with specific sports footwear.
  • Do not place very heavy machines on the tatami, as it may become deformed. Puzzle tatami is designed to protect people while practicing sports with falls, not to support tons of weight.
FAQs

Are the edge borders included with each piece?

Yes. Each piece of our 25 mm superior density puzzle tatami includes the 4 straight edge borders.

What does non-slip surface F mean?

All our tatamis are made with a non-slip surface, which in the case of this 25 mm superior density model has a finish F.

Is it resistant to moisture?

Our 25 mm superior density tatami with non-slip F surface is resistant to surface moisture, but it is not recommended to soak it or place it on wet floors. Good ventilation is key to preventing mold.

For which disciplines is a 25 mm superior density tatami suitable?

The 25 mm superior density puzzle tatami offers greater impact absorption than the 25 mm medium density tatami. For this reason, our 25 mm superior density tatami can be used for more demanding disciplines, such as martial arts where there is a medium to high probability of falls. For example, it would be a good choice for Karate or Taekwondo, but it may be slightly insufficient for Judo or MMA when practiced with high impact. If you want it for personal training at home, it can be an excellent alternative for almost any martial art or sports discipline.

What are the differences between a 25 mm superior density tatami and a medium density one?

The main differences are that a 25 mm superior density tatami offers greater impact absorption, more stability and firmness, and may feel harder than a 25 mm medium density tatami.

Can I use the 25 mm superior density puzzle tatami at home?

Yes, it is an excellent option for home use thanks to its easy installation, low maintenance, simple cleaning, and good cushioning. It adapts perfectly to any home gym to practice your favorite sport or discipline.

What is the difference compared to thicker tatamis, such as 40 mm?

The 40 mm tatami offers greater impact absorption, making it more suitable for disciplines with heavier throws or falls, such as judo or MMA. The 25 mm superior density tatami offers less protection but is lighter and easier to move.

Can the 25 mm superior density tatami be used with sneakers?

It is not recommended, as stepping on the tatami with footwear may deteriorate the surface more quickly.
